Established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh through Government Order No. 447(i)/78-2-2006 dated 03 March 2006, the Centre for e-Governance (CeG) is a registered society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, functioning under the Department of IT & Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh. Operational since 07 March 2006, CeG serves as the State Designated Agency (SDA) for planning, implementing, and managing Information Technology and e-Governance initiatives across Uttar Pradesh. Headed by the Governing Council under the chairmanship of the Infrastructure & Industrial Development Commissioner (IIDC), Government of Uttar Pradesh, CeG provides strategic direction for the State's digital governance ecosystem. Nodal agency for Digital Governance, CeG oversees the implementation and monitoring of flagship initiatives under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP), Digital India Mission, and various Central and State Government programmes. Empowered by a dedicated State e-Mission Team (SeMT), Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, CeG enables innovation, capacity building, and citizen-centric digital service delivery across the State.
