Uttar Pradesh Development Systems Corporation Limited (UPDESCO) is a premier Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, established in March 1977. Initially promoted by the Planning Department, the Corporation has been functioning under the administrative control of the Department of Information Technology & Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh, since 1999.

UPDESCO is governed by a Board of Directors, which provides strategic direction and policy oversight. The day-to-day operations of the Corporation are managed by the Managing Director, who serves as the Chief Executive and is supported by senior officers and multidisciplinary teams across various functional domains.

The Corporation operates through specialized technology and service verticals to deliver digital governance, IT infrastructure, system integration, cybersecurity, cloud services, project management and other mission-critical technology solutions for the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

The Board may consists of 15 directors of which the Governor of Uttar Pradesh is entitled to appoint not more than 1/3rd of the total number of directors of the company. The other directors are adopted by the corporation after approval by the administrative department, i.e. Department of I.T. and Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Operating Structure

UPDESCO is staffed with highly qualified personnel in various fields. Besides the core in-house consultants, that is regular employees; UPDESCO has a panel of external experts in various specialised disciplines who are engaged on the assignment / studies from time to time. With a spectrum of multi-disciplinary expertise, UPDESCO operates through its 03 divisions.

Manpower

UPDESCO is a knowledge-driven organization where skilled professionals form the foundation of its technical excellence. The corporation maintains a multidisciplinary workforce comprising experts in information technology, e-Governance, software development, infrastructure management, networking, cybersecurity, project management, training, consultancy, and administrative services.

The sanctioned staffing structure, following Government-approved restructuring, consists of 133 posts across various categories. The organization continues to strengthen its human resources to support large-scale Digital Governance initiatives and mission-critical projects for the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
