The Swami Vivekananda Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana (SVYSY) is a flagship digital empowerment initiative of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, implemented by the Department of IT & Electronics in collaboration with the Departments of Higher Education, Technical Education, Medical Education, Skill Development, and other participating institutions. The scheme aims to bridge the digital divide by providing free tablets and smartphones to eligible students pursuing higher education, technical education, skill development,
nursing, paramedical, MSME training, and other approved courses across the State.
Launched as a pilot during 2021–22 and expanded statewide from 2022–23 for a period of five years, the scheme empowers students with access to digital learning resources, online education platforms, e-content, and skill development opportunities. Through modern digital devices, students are equipped to enhance their digital literacy, improve
academic performance, and prepare for technology-driven careers and employment opportunities.
The scheme is implemented through the DigiShakti Portal, which provides an end-to-end digital ecosystem for beneficiary registration, institutional verification, Aadhaar-based authentication, device allocation, distribution, and real-time monitoring. By ensuring a transparent, paperless, and technology-driven implementation process, the platform enables seamless delivery of benefits to eligible students across Uttar Pradesh.
