AI-PRAGYA is a flagship digital skilling initiative of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, enabled through the Centre for e-Governance (CeG), focused on building a future-ready workforce with skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity. Inaugurated
on 9 May 2025, the initiative aims to position Uttar Pradesh as a national leader in AI-driven digital skilling and innovation.
With a target of skilling 10 lakh (1 million) stakeholders across the state, AI-PRAGYA is designed to serve diverse groups including students, teachers, farmers, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), doctors, government officials, and other citizens. The programme combines structured training, industry
partnerships, Centres of Excellence, and capacity-building initiatives to expand access to emerging technology skills.
The initiative has already trained 52,000+ students from schools, ITIs and polytechnics and approximately 2,600 government employees and officials. Its partner ecosystem includes organisations such as Microsoft, Intel, 1M1B, Wadhwani Foundation, NASSCOM, TCS, and IBM, while the way forward includes Train-the-Trainer
programmes, AI innovation challenges, district-level training, and development of AI-based solutions for priority sectors.
