Zero Poverty Abhiyan is a flagship initiative of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, enabled through the Centre for e-Governance (CeG), with the vision of making Uttar Pradesh the first zero-poverty state in India. Launched on 2 October 2024, the initiative focuses on identifying the
most economically vulnerable families and ensuring targeted delivery of government welfare schemes and livelihood support.
The programme identifies 10 to 25 ultra-poor families in each of approximately 59,000 Gram Panchayats, covering around 13.5 lakh families living below the poverty line. By bringing together welfare interventions and development support, the initiative aims to address the specific needs of
identified families and create pathways towards sustainable economic improvement.
A key objective is to raise the annual household income of identified families to at least ₹1.25 lakh, enabling them to meet basic needs and improve their standard of living. A structured monitoring and evaluation mechanism at Panchayat, block, and district levels supports progress tracking, accountability, and timely intervention.
