Digital Locker (DigiLocker) is a key digital governance initiative that enables citizens to securely access, store, and share authentic digital documents anytime and anywhere. In Uttar Pradesh, the initiative is being strengthened through integration of government departments and institutions
as authorised document issuers, making essential certificates and records digitally accessible to citizens.
Uttar Pradesh has established a strong DigiLocker ecosystem, ranking 3rd in India for the highest number of documents integrated with DigiLocker. The state has integrated 147 document types from 116 departments, covering critical documents such as caste, income and domicile certificates, educational records,
ration cards, electricity-related documents, degree certificates, and other citizen credentials.
