Cyber Security is a critical digital governance initiative of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, enabled through the Centre for e-Governance (CeG), focused on strengthening the security,
resilience, and continuity of the state’s digital infrastructure and government services.
The initiative establishes a comprehensive cyber security framework covering cyber security governance, infrastructure assessment, capacity building, awareness, and cyber incident response. A State Cyber Security Policy has been formulated, Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) have been nominated across
53 departments, and cyber security guidelines have been issued to strengthen security practices across government systems.
The programme also focuses on regular vulnerability assessments and security audits of critical government infrastructure, coordinated response to emerging threats, and continuous capacity building for government officials. A structured State Cyber Crisis Management Plan further strengthens the state's preparedness
